The New Bagel and Cream Cheese P28 review

I am a 100% full blooded Italian girl, with the fire to match but when it comes to eating sometimes feel like a Jewish girl at heart when I get a carb “craving” it’s usually for a bagel and cream cheese. I recently read online about a company called P28 that carries all products that are high in protein and low in fat. There products range from everything from Peanut Butter to Pancakes. However, the thing I had read about and was most excited about was there protein bread. The bread is offered online at but is also offered at select retailers. I got my bread at Max Muscle a chain that specializes in bodybuidling and clean eating. When I told the manager, I came in to get some P28 bread, he suggested I try the bagels because he likes those best. I agreed to try it because there is nothing better than a bagel with lox, cream cheese, red onion and tomato.  At his reccomendation, I purchased the bagels. At first glance, they look like an ordinary bagel but maybe just a bit denser.

In my love for bagels and lox, I also read about cream cheese that is made with Greek yogurt and made it my mission to find it, and when I set my mind to something I do it. Sure enough, I found a company called Green Mountain Farms that makes the Greek Yogurt cream cheese. In dieting and clean eating, I try to find the healthiest versions of my my favorite foods or remake those into healthy versions myself. Here’s the “skinny” on these products.

P28 High Protein  Bagels.

260 Calories, 7 grams of fat, 25 Carb, 4 grams of Fiber and 28 grams of protein.

Green Mountain  Farms  Greek Yogurt Cream Cheese

60 Calories, 3.5 grams of fat, 4 grams of protein.

How did it taste, well if you your thinking it tasted like a regular bagel, you’d be wrong. I think when your dieting or choose to have a clean eating lifestyle there are sacrfices you have to make or things you may have to give up or just cheat. In this case, it’s worth the cheat. Even toasted and I reccomend you toast them, the bagels had a spongy, consistency to them and an aftertaste that activated my gag reflex and like some of the clean foods I have eaten had to suck it down. However, that is not to say that there bread doesn’t taste good or that there newest product high- protein pancake mix might not be good. I am looking forward to trying it, it’s just a matter of taste. I would also love to try their peanut butter that I hear his very good. Now on to the schmear, the cream cheese tasted just like regular cream cheese and I would definately purchase it and use it again. It’s a simple low calorie, higher protein swap to enjoy the things you love in moderation.

The next thing on my list to try is Quest Nutrition Protein potato chips if the store’s ever start to carry them but when I do get my hands on them. I hope there worth the wait!
